Landis Homes Administrator of Healthcare Ethel Caldwell received the Distinguished Service Award called Facilitator of the Year 2012 at the LeadingAge PA annual conference in Hershey, PA in June.  LeadingAge PA is an association of non-profit senior services advocating for public policy initiatives, which support individual rights, quality care,equitable access and reimbursement for seniors throughout Pennsylvania.

The Facilitator of the Year Award is given to an outstanding mentor who has nurtured, coached, counseled and encouraged others in order to help them develop personally and professionally as an individual and as part of a team. Here is an excerpt of the comments made about Ethel during the awards presentation:

“Over the course of Ethel Caldwell’s thirty years of service to Landis Homes, her ability to win hearts and inspire outstanding service has contributed greatly to the organization’s success. From her initial role as charge nurse to her current position as Administrator of Healthcare, Ethel’s warm, hands-on style of leadership has resulted in the development of a strong and dedicated service team. By promoting open dialogue among all staff, she has fostered a team that is confident in their own abilities to overcome challenges and arrive at effective solutions to maximize resident care.”

Following the award presentation, Ethel was along with friends, family and colleagues were hosted to a brunch attended by other distinguished award winners who won in other categories. About receiving the award, Ethel shared, “I am grateful to be part of a great team which works hard every day to serve a wonderful community of residents.”
